About RG Water Operations & Consulting

What Is A CSI?

The purpose of a customer service inspection is to identify one of 2 potential sources of contamination.  One being a cross-connection, or a physical connection between a drinking water supply and another source of potentially contaminated or polluted water. (private wells, irrigation, a water hose left in a bucket of water, etc.)

The other potential source of contamination is lead plumbing materials.  Although rare in new construction, many older homes with metal pipes could potentially have solder containing lead.

Customer Service Inspection

Visual inspection of potential cross-connections and/or sources of contamination both outside and inside of the home. Inside home we’ll just take a look at faucets and water fixtures to ensure no lead based materials were used.

$100

Areas of concern:

Outside -

Presence of private well in combination with public water supply

hose bibbs/faucets to verify installation of vacuum breakers

on-site septic - on its own is fine, but in combination with pools, irrigation, etc the use of a backflow prevention device is required

Inside -

Plumbing connections at kitchen and bathroom sinks, toilets to verify no lead solder.

Hot water heaters for use of blow off valves or thermal expansion tanks
